After such a wild wild Winter and now an even wilder Spring what does the 2013 Summer hold for us?
Weather check: If you are in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, or areas surrounding be sure you are practicing weather drills now. These are nasty times and we are thinking about all the children whose lives were taken in recent stormy weather. We are saddened to see such a loss for us all.
Are you using sand bags or stakes? Do you have a weather "rain check", or better still do you have an indoor area that can be used in exchange for outdoors during windy days?
Bounce house rentals and water slides are great for kids parties but safety is the number one issue. Be sure you are insured, offer safety rules, use signs, and ensure that your employees are doing the same.
Those of us who live in the midwest are not strangers to these weather dangers but it is good to repeat these extra efforts put forth to show your customers they are always number one.
Get your inventory ready, keep it clean, dry, and store it in the correct fashion. Avoid mishaps, remember mold forms when storing units wet, and most of all avoid duct tape... really?

Dare I speak too soon, again, but I think it is Spring weather and it's going to be a short one. It will turn quickly into SUMMER! How many "S" words can you think of for this time of year? Summer, Slides, Slip and Slide, Surf, Splash, Sno Cones and syrups, Shaved Ice, Swim, Screens (movies), Shade, Sun, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Shorts, Sea, Swimsuit, Skies, Showers...
Do some "gorilla marketing" to increase Summer dates on your calendar. Try some of these great promotional items you can print your logo on for small prices: sunscreens, sunglasses, sand buckets... they don't have to be "S" words, use visors, flip-flops, chapsticks, picnic items, t-shirts, and so many more under $5 items that kids love and will use them around their friends for weeks to come.
Include these items as "Free Promos". For every party booked June through August (or while supplies last) guests receive a "Summer Sizzler" free. This costs much less than advertising locally in print, radio, local yellow pages, or certainly tv. Make sure your phone number or website address or both are printed on these give-away promos.
"I want that company who offers free stuff at parties". Kids to kids. They are the ones requesting the party services afterall.
